Medium Walks
(5 to 12km / 3-7.5miles)

Been on some shorter walks and feel ready to tackle something longer?

 

New to rambling, but with a reasonable level of fitness, or a dab hand who has found their ideal length?

 

We will get out into the countryside and try some more challenging options, crossing fields, farmland and woodland.

 

We will tackle hills and uneven terrain. These walks will require some basic equipment including hiking shoes or boots, walking trousers / leggings, waterproof jacket / trousers.

 

We will consider what to carry in our rucksack and learn what different walking gear has to offer. We will identify hazards, both natural and man-made, and learn how to deal with them safely.

 

All the while, we will enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds our countryside has to offer, making connections with others around us.
