Frequently Asked Questions

If you require any further information about these or any other questions please don't hesitate to get in contact and I'll be happy to help.

Can I bring my dog on the walk?

Please check the walk details as each one is different. Well socialised, well behaved dogs on leash are allowed on some walks. Responsibility for the dog lies with the owner. Dogs will need to be on a short / fixed leash in certain areas such as on roads and farmland.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Each walk gives a list of “Essential” and “Useful” equipment / clothing. Please ensure that you follow the information for your own and other participants safety. Any walker who arrives without “Essential” equipment / clothing may be unable to join the walk at the discretion of the leader.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If you are unable to attend, please Contact the walk leader as soon as possible. Remember to give your name and the walk you are no longer attending. You will be given a full refund if you give 48 hours notice.

What happens if the walk is cancelled?

You will be notified using the contact details you have given if a walk is cancelled. Walks may be cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions (thunder / lightning, high winds), if there is an unexpected issue with the route, if the leader is sick / injured, if the minimum number of walkers for that walk is not reached. You will be given a full refund if the walk is cancelled.

Why do I need to give personal / medical information?

For your own comfort and safety it is essential that the walk leader know of any potential issues which may affect your health or ability to participate fully in the walk. Adjustments will be made where possible! Your information will be stored securely and will not be disclosed except to emergency personnel if required. If you wish to discuss any needs further, please Contact Me.

Why is there a maximum number of participants?

There is a maximum number to ensure the safety and enjoyment of participants. Training walks (eg Navigation) will have lower numbers in order to facilitate effective teaching.

I’m unsure about the fitness level required?

The information for each walk contains a guide about the fitness requirements and terrain. The pace listed is a guide for walking on flat easy ground. We will be slower on hills and if the terrain is uneven or wet / muddy. You can check your pace using any of the fitness / walking apps or simply by walking a 1km or 1 mile distance and recording the time it takes. Please feel free to Contact Me to discuss further.
